Poland welcomed Nigeria yesterday in a friendly tie in Wroclaw in which the Super Eagles team emerged victorious with a 1-0 win, the team captain, John Obi-Mikel was absent for the game but still showed support after the win.
Mikel could not make it to Wroclaw due to work permit to face the 6th world ranked team. Chelsea’s Victor Moses scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in the 61st minute.
The Super Eagles contained the Poles who had Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski in action.
Mikel also hailed Moses for calmly putting away his penalty.
He tweeted, “Cool finish from the spot from Victor Moses! Great win for the team.”
The Eagles will travel to London to take on Serbia on Tuesday for their second friendly game.
