Authorities have detained six individuals in connection to the killing of renowned South African rapper Kiernan Forbes, famously known as AKA.
According to TalkGlitz, AKA met his untimely death alongside a companion outside a dining establishment in Durban’s coastal locale in February 2023.
AKA, alongside his close friend Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motshoane, fell victim to gunfire from two gunmen at point-blank range as they made their way to their vehicle.
Updating the media on Tuesday evening, KwaZulu-Natal’s top police official, Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, disclosed that the apprehended suspects are slated for a court appearance come Thursday.
A widely circulated online video featured Mkhwanazi, who holds the rank of lieutenant-general, detailing the apprehension of the suspects and their involvement in the demise of the musician.
“It was clear that AKA was monitored from the airport and Tibz was not the intended target in the murder on Florida Road in Durban.
“We know they were paid for this,” he stated.
