An Irish restaurant owner named Alan Fisher has achieved a remarkable feat by surpassing the previous record set by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
Alan Fisher managed to break the record by cooking continuously for an astonishing 119 hours and 57 minutes, exceeding Baci’s previous record by more than 24 hours.
Fisher, who operates his restaurant in Japan, not only claimed the title for the longest cooking marathon but also set a new record for the longest baking marathon for an individual, achieving a time of 47 hours and 21 minutes. The previous record holder for baking was Wendy Sandner from the USA, with a time of 31 hours and 16 minutes.
Guinness World Records officially acknowledged Alan Fisher’s extraordinary accomplishments, sharing the news on their social media platform, X, on a Tuesday.
The Guinness World Records announcement read, “Nigerian cooking queen Hilda Baci has been dethroned as Alan Fisher from Ireland cooked for an incredible 119 hours and 57 minutes at his restaurant in Japan.”
Commenting on Fisher’s remarkable achievement, Guinness World Records further stated, “What makes this feat even more impressive is that Alan took on both challenges consecutively, which meant he was actively working in the kitchen for over 160 hours, with just a little over a day of rest in between.”
