The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has demanded that the Nigerian Federal Government reverse its Naira Redesign Policy, stating that it has resulted in significant difficulties for Nigerians who are unable to access their hard-earned money from banks.
The party has also called for the resignation of the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele. These demands were made by the national chairman of PRP, Alhaji Falalu Bello, during the party’s manifesto presentation to the media in Abuja on Friday.
Bello argued that any policy that prevents citizens from accessing their money is not a good policy, and that the CBN’s withdrawal of over N2 trillion from circulation and the printing of only N300 billion has contributed to the country’s present crisis. He urged President Muhammadu Buhari to take important actions that would alleviate the suffering of ordinary Nigerians and address corruption in the country.
The PRP national chairman also presented a 34-page manifesto entitled “Compact With The People: Manifesto Of The PRP For 2023 Election,” which contains a six-point agenda for revamping the economy, promoting education and human capital development, fostering national unity and genuine federalism, enhancing national security, and revamping the extractive industry, including oil, gas, and solid minerals.
