Despite the outbreak of the dreaded coronavirus pandemic, 2020 has not been without its fair of musical content to quench the thirst of fans. Amid the restrictions and self-isolation put in place for our own safety, artists have found a way to put their music out there, steadily keeping us entertained.

As we face the last quarter of the year, the nation’s prominent music stars are poised to drop their albums; a wonderful respite in these troubled times as it is the distraction we all need.

We take a look at five of the most anticipated of these albums from our beloved artists which will drop soon.

MADE IN LAGOS (WIZKID)

5 Most Anticipated Music Albums In The Last Quarter Of 2020
Wizkid

Arguably the most anticipated album this year, Wizkid’s fourth studio album is currently being talked about by a majority of music enthusiasts in the country.

The award-winning singer announced his forthcoming Made in Lagos album on his twitter page back in February and it has gotten fans pumped up in frenzied anticipation.

With the success of his previous albums and his list of enviable accomplishments, it’s safe to say that Wizkid’s Made in Lagos will be another winner.

A BETTER TIME (DAVIDO)

Davido

Still basking in the impact of his third album A Good Time, the relentless hitmaker known as Davido looks set to eclipse its success with his fourth titled A Better Time.

The artist revealed that his fourth album will drop this month (July), and something that is a major attraction is the fact that it is said to feature American rapper Nicki Minaj.

Davido knows how to whet his fans’ appetite, so we can only sit back and expect the best and nothing less when A Better Time lands.

TWICE AS TALL (BURNA BOY)

Burna Boy

When the ‘African Giant’ speaks, we have no choice but to pay rapt attention. He has spoken about his fifth album coming this year which he says is titled Twice as Tall and we believe him!

Perhaps no artist in recent memory has garnered the global attention that the Ye crooner has gotten within a short time; an obvious indication that he only keeps getting better.

As the title implies, Twice as Tall should show music enthusiasts that Burna Boy is even twice the African Giant we all think he is.

CELIA (TIWA SAVAGE)

Tiwa Savage

Following a gap since she last released her third album, the self-proclaimed ‘African Bad Girl’ Tiwa Savage looks set to follow up her Sugarcane album (released in 2017) with Celia in 2020.

The Nigerian superstar and Universal Music artist disclosed via her Twitter account on May 7, 2020, that the title to her long-awaited fourth album is Celia.

The album features the likes of Rexxie, Naira Marley, Mayorkun, Wizkid, and others. With the caliber of guest appearances, Celia may end up trumping Tiwa’s previous efforts.

REALMS (WANDE COAL)

Wande Coal

Talented vocalist Wande Coal’s last album was released in 2012. He means to make up for the long gap this year with the release of Realms, his third studio album.

Wande’s upcoming album is highly anticipated because of the uniqueness of his sound. No one can take away the fact that he stands tall when it comes to dishing out the kind of songs that make you stop and listen.

It’s been a long time coming but seeing as his debut album Mushin to Mo’Hits changed the soundscape of contemporary Nigerian pop music, we can say that Wande is on track to do something phenomenal in 2020.
