The Atiku/Okowa Campaign Organization has issued a statement urging INEC and the people of Nigeria to stand firm against any efforts by the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign to postpone the 2023 general election.

According to the statement, the Atiku/Okowa Campaign has been made aware of attempts by agents of the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign to pressure INEC into postponing the polls, led by a governor from an APC-controlled North West state.

The statement alleges that the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign has resorted to public incitement, wild allegations, and efforts to incite violence in an attempt to justify their demand for postponement.

The statement further accuses Tinubu of being desperate for a face-saving measure after coming to the end of his political games in the face of the rising popularity of Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential Candidate of the PDP.

The PDP spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, expressed confidence in the readiness of Nigerians for the 2023 election and called on Tinubu to accept his rejection and exit the presidential race gracefully.

The campaign accused Tinubu of being in the race for personal gain rather than for the good of the nation, and warned Nigerians and INEC to be on alert against any efforts to disrupt the democratic process. The Atiku/Okowa Campaign expressed its hope that the election will pave the way for a new government to lead the nation towards unity, peace, stability, and economic prosperity.
