The striker was instrumental in his club’s match against Bologna on Monday, finding the back of the net twice in a game that ended 2-0 in their favor.

Mirror reports that he tested positive for COVID-19 at AC Milan’s training ground on Thursday, September 24, 2020.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s coronavirus diagnosis comes following another player in the club, Leo Duarte, contracting the virus on Tuesday.

In a statement, The Rossoneri confirmed Ibrahimovic testing positive, saying:

“Zlatan Ibrahimović has tested positive for Covid-19 following a second round of swab tests ahead of tonight’s game against Bodø/Glimt.

The Club has informed the relevant authorities and the player has been promptly placed in quarantine at home. All other team members and staff have tested negative.”
