Nollywood actor Uche Maduagwu has sent a message to veteran actor and producer Pete Edochie, calling on him to speak up regarding his son Yul Edochie’s recent marriage issues.
Maduagwu expressed his concern about Pete Edochie’s silence, given his reputation for being a proponent of traditional values and principles.
Maduagwu specifically referred to a recent incident in which Yul Edochie celebrated the safe delivery of his child with his second wife on social media, while his first wife was mourning the death of their son.
Maduagwu argued that such a situation is unprecedented in Igbo culture and traditions and called on Edochie to intervene.
In his message to Pete Edochie, Uche Maduagwu wrote, “Dear Sir PETE, your continuous SILENCE on this matter is unbelievably Worrisome, talk to your Pikin. Never in the History of African Culture, especially in the IGBO Tradition has something like this happened that 1st IYAWO go Dey Mourn her Pikin, and Husband go post video of 2nd IYAWO Jubilating and Thanking God for safe delivery of her Pikin, is this a JOKE or what?”

The controversy surrounding Yul Edochie’s marital issues has been making rounds in the Nigerian entertainment industry for a while now. Yul Edochie, who is known for his roles in Nollywood movies, got married to his first wife in 2004 and they have been together for over 17 years. However, in 2022, he revealed that he got married to a second wife, which raised eyebrows in the industry.
