WWE Wrestler Randy Orton recently challenged former colleague and now Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson to a match at next year’s Wrestlemania and the latter’s response wasn’t one Orton expected.
Randy Orton has proved himself in the WWE as the genuine bad guy, being the main antagonist to the likes of John Cena, Hulk Hogan, and Triple H. The fact that he is a third-generation superstar (his grandfather and father were wrestlers) lends credibility to his claim of wrestling being in his blood.
Now, Orton appears to have set his sights on ‘The Rock’, who appeared on this past week’s episode of Smackdown, perhaps hoping to ignite a feud that would end up in the ultimate showdown in the grandest stage of them all.
‘The Viper’ (as Orton is called) issued a challenge to Johnson, telling him it was time to answer the question of who was the greatest third-generation superstar of all-time.
.@TheRock I see you will be at #SmackdownOnFox this Friday. How about you & I have a discussion about who’s the greatest 3rd generation of all time and we answer that question April 5th in Tampa At Wrestlemania 36. A vipers sense of smell is unmatched. I smell what you’re cooking

Like Orton, Johnson’s father (Rocky Johnson) and grandfather (Peter Maivia) were renowned wrestlers. In fact, Johnson comes from a famous wrestling family that has produced Umaga, Rikishi, Roman Reigns, and The Usos. Reigns and The Usos are cousins with Johnson.
The Rock’s reply to Orton’s challenge was both unexpected (to Orton at least) and hilarious.
U think Bob O Sr & Chief Maivia along with our pops’ Bob Jr & the Soulman ran up and down those roads for decades taking bumps just so we can sell out WM36 so you can RKO my ass thru the earth. My body’s still recovering from that Evolution beatdown you gave me at WM20 ????

The two facing off would be quite the spectacle and something the WWE Universe would relish. Unfortunately, it seems that won’t happen anytime soon.
