The Herbert Macaulay Affair is a movie about the life of the Nigerian nationalist and politician, and director Imoh Umoren tells the story, with the icon’s own grandson, Wale Macaulay, playing a role in the film.
In case you’re not yet aware, the Nollywood landscape is changing, with the world bearing witness to the golden age of cinema movies. Imoh Umoren’s upcoming feature is a unique addition with a character-driven performance from William Benson as Herbert Macaulay.

Olayinka Herbert Samuel Heelas Badmus Macaulay (November 14, 1864 – May 7, 1946) was a Nigerian politician, surveyor, engineer, architect, journalist, and musician regarded by many as the founder of Nigerian nationalism.
He was notable for his opposition to British colonial rule in Nigeria and was a part of the Anti-Slavery and Aborigines’ Protection Society.
The Herbert Macaulay Affair will be in movie theaters on October 25, 2019.
