Nigerian rap artist Tochukwu Ojogwu, known by his stage name Odumodublvck, has disclosed that English footballer Declan Rice plans to visit Nigeria soon. The West Ham United star has expressed his desire to perform Odumodublvck’s recently released hip-hop track, titled “Declan Rice,” on stage with the rapper in Nigeria.
Rice recently shared a video on social media, showcasing himself enjoying and grooving to Odumodublvck’s song, which has caught the attention of fans and followers.
During a virtual appearance on the latest episode of the Afrobeats podcast, Odumodublvck shared details of how the connection between him and Rice developed. He recounted that a West Ham fan who had heard the song titled “Declan Rice” at a club decided to create a video of himself vibing to the track and sent it to the West Ham fan page.
The individual controlling the fan page, who is friends with Rice, forwarded the video to the footballer. Upon seeing the video, Rice expressed his excitement by commenting “fire, fire, fire, fire, fire.” Since then, the two have become friends and have been in communication. According to Odumodublvck, Rice has mentioned his eagerness to visit Nigeria, even if only for two days, and join the rapper on stage during his next performance.
This collaboration between a prominent Nigerian rapper and an English football star has captured the interest of fans from both the music and sports worlds, as they eagerly anticipate Rice’s visit and the duo’s on-stage performance.
