Three officers of the Police Force have been set ablaze following a clash between them and some men of the navy.
This is a really serious situation as military forces meant to oversee the regulations of law and order are the ones breaking them.

According to a report by Channels TV, the naval officers allegedly set the deceased ablaze in their station during the fight.

The report stated that the misunderstanding between the two law enforcement agencies had started at a police checkpoint, opposite the Navy barracks in Akim area of the town.

The fight started earlier in the day after a policeman stopped a naval officer at the checkpoint, but the officer reportedly refused to obey, a source said.

According to the source, the Naval officer’s refusal, apparently led to a shootout. He added that following the incident, some naval officers mobilised later in the evening and ‘set the police station ablaze’.

The state Naval unit is yet to make any official statement concerning the issue yet.
