Paul Pogba made a very costly error that dashed United’s chances as he handled the ball in the danger area following a ferocious shot from Declan Rice to hand the visitors a penalty.
According to the club’s captain Harry Maguire, Pogba apologized to his team-mates in the dressing room after the game which eventually ended 1-1. Ex-United star Gary Neville described the act as “rubbish and embarrassing” that he did not take the ball in his face.
However, Old Trafford boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said:
“Paul held his hands up knowing he should have taken it in the mush. “But it came flying at him at 100 miles an hour. It was a natural reaction.”
