The winner of the Presidential election which held on February 23, 2019, will be announced on Wednesday, September 11 by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
A petition alleging that there were irregularities in several states during the election had been filed by Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared President Muhammadu Buhari the winner with 15,191,847 votes. Atiku came in second with 11,262,978 votes.
Atiku and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had insisted that President Buhari was unqualified to contest in the first place, owing to his lack of genuine credentials.
