France international Aurelien Tchouameni is reportedly set to choose Real Madrid over Liverpool in the coming weeks as the transfer window draws ever closer. The 22-year-old is rumored to be excited at the prospect of playing for the Spanish powerhouse and sources close to the player believe he will grab the opportunity with both hands.
Tchouameni has been favored to join Liverpool in recent weeks with many conversations linking him to the Anfield giants. However, there have been no concrete agreements between the Reds and Tchouameni and the midfielder is already made up in his mind- he wants Real Madrid.
The fee for Tchouameni set by Monaco is around £44m and Madrid is ready to dive into negotiations for the top talent. Tchouameni has not only been scouted by Liverpool but also by Manchester United and AC Milan. However, his availability depends largely on how much the clubs will splash and Milan sees him as ”too expensive”.
Real Madrid will begin talks in earnest this week with Tchouameni’s agent. Following the Mbappe saga, Los Blancos have changed their plans and are ready to work on other players to bolster their squad. Tchouameni is top of the priority list for Real Madrid as they are excited that the player is eager to play for them.
Tchouameni has played 35 matches for Monaco this season and scored three times. A formidable and energetic midfielder, Tchouameni is viewed as a big future talent and one who can become an integral part of any squad he walks into this summer. Tchouameni is known for his ability to break up play in the midfield and his long-range vision helps to initiate attacks for his team. Liverpool now must convince Tchouameni with a lot of vigour in hope that he will sign for them this summer.
The transfer window opens officially on June 10 and Tchouameni will be hoping to secure a move to Real Madrid possibly before then. Real Madrid intends to strengthen their midfield and with Tchouameni more than open to joining them, Carlo Ancelotti may have scored one over Jurgen Klopp even before the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday.
