A 27-year-old Tanzanian police officer identified as James Paulo has been arrested for allegedly killed his girlfriend Beatha Kafuru for “refusing to marry him”.
James who works with the anti-graft unit in Tanzania allegedly fired three bullets into the head of his lover killing her on the spot.
The incident took place at the suspect’s home in Tunduru, Ruvuma.
According to Tanzanian news outlets, Paulo killed his girlfriend after she refused to marry him despite the fact that he had been financing her college education.
Kafuru completed her diploma in nursing course recently.
Paulo told police that he had planned to marry Kafuru, whom he shares a child with as soon as she is done.
