Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has ignited discussions about his future by mentioning European powerhouses Manchester United and Real Madrid.
Nwabali provided an update on his status with South African DStv Premiership side Chippa United while addressing fans. He clarified that despite rumors of potential moves to clubs in Europe, Asia, and South Africa during the summer transfer window, no concrete offers have been made.
Nwabali’s reputation soared following his impressive performances at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where he set a new record for the longest time without conceding a goal by a Nigerian goalkeeper in the tournament’s history.
The 27-year-old goalkeeper expressed his desire to explore new opportunities in his career but emphasized that he would not force an exit from Chippa United.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday ahead of Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifier against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana, Nwabali said: “I really wish to leave, but at this point, there’s no club. I don’t really need to force it because if I can put up any performance with Chippa United in my national team, it doesn’t change anything if I’m in Manchester United or if I’m in Real Madrid.
“I will leave if there’s a club, but I stick to my club if there’s no club.”
Nwabali’s comments have fueled speculation about his next move, leaving fans eager to see where his career will take him next.
