Spurs star set to depart boyhood club
Harry Winks

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks is receiving offers from various clubs in England and one abroad. The 26-year-old has been at the club since his childhood days. Winks made his Tottenham debut in 2014 and became a key figure under Mauricio Pochettino especially in the 2018/19 season when Tottenham made it to the UEFA Champions League final, losing 2-0 against Liverpool.

Winks plays as a defensive midfielder and also as a central midfielder. He has not featured for the Three Lions of England in almost two years and he missed out on the squad that made it to the finals at Euro 2020.

Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte gave Harry Winks a lifeline in the January window by retaining him. With Højbjerg and Bentacour ahead of the Englishman,Winks is considering ending a relationship with a club he has known for almost twenty-one years.

Aston Villa are interested in Winks and could meet his valuation of £15m this summer. However,Steven Gerrard’s side face stiff competition in Crystal Palace who are also looking to match the proposed £15m. It is very unlikely that Winks will leave England amidst interests from Villarreal in Spain.

The midfielder has made 25 appearances for Spurs this season, scoring once and assisting two across all competitions. With the departure of Dele Alli who was out of favour at Tottenham,it is very likely Winks will use the exit door in hope of rejuvenating his career in a well versed league.
