Olympic sprinting icon Usain Bolt has revealed that he is in quarantine while waiting for the results of his coronavirus test.

The retired Jamaican sprinter was responding to reports that he had the virus, posting the update on his Twitter account on Monday, August 24, 2020.

He said, “I was waking up, and like everyone else, I checked social media and saw my social media saying I am confirmed to have COVID-19.

Despite multiple news outlets saying that he has the virus, Bolt didn’t confirm it but explained that he took a test on Saturday and he is waiting for the result.

He disclosed that he wasn’t feeling any symptoms but opted for the test because he had to leave Jamaica for work.

“I am going to quarantine myself and wait on the confirmation to see what is the protocol and how I should go about quarantining myself.

I’m trying to be responsible so I’m going to stay in and stay away from my friends,” he added. “Just to be safe, I’ll quarantine myself.”
