Tottenham Sign Yves Bissouma On A Four-year Deal
Spurs hires Fraser Forster, the keeper, and Ivan Perisic on the free market.
Bissouma made 124 appearances for the Seagulls after joining the club from Lille in July 2018.
Spurs were interested in signing him in the winter.
The coveted central midfielder started 26 Premier League games for the Seagulls last season, scoring once.
The highest finish in the club’s history was nine place in the Premier League, and he played an influential role for Graham Potter.
Potter feels that this is a “good” transfer, both for the player and the team.
He said, “Yves has shown his undoubted ability and been an important player for us during his time with us.”
“Now he has a new challenge with Tottenham, including the opportunity to play Champions League football, and everyone at the club wishes him well.”
Bissouma said that last September, he did not have plans to leave Brighton and move to Spurs, but the Champions League application by Spurs next season convinced him otherwise.
The deal follows Brighton’s signing of Paraguay forward Julio Enciso on a four-year deal.
