Chelsea star Romelu Lukaku has become a huge topic in the last few months. Having joined the Blues for £97m from Inter, the Belgian has struggled to replicate the same form he had in the Serie A last season.
The likes of Kai Havertz and USA international Christian Pulisic are ahead of Lukaku at the club. Lukaku had an outburst earlier this season with what was known as a media hullabaloo. Openly declaring he wanted to return to Inter was considered too unprofessional by many at the club including fans.
The 28-year-old has since been out of favour at West London and it is increasingly apparent he is weighing his options after what can be said to be a dismal season for “Big Rom”.
Real Madrid are currently monitoring the situation of Lukaku and will be happy to sign the striker if he opts to leave Chelsea this summer. The Chelsea board are not even considering the possibility of Lukaku leaving after just one season and it is unlikely that Real Madrid will make a valuation of around £80m. Chelsea intend to make sure Lukaku sees out his contract which runs for five years.
Real Madrid are not in a hurry to make an offer as they are waiting to see if there are other contenders in pursuit of the Belgian.
