Game of Thrones alum Sophie Turner will star alongside Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton) in the thriller Survive.
The movie, directed by Mark Pellington, is based on the novel by Richard Abate and follows Jane (Turner) whose plane crashes on a remote snow-covered mountain. She bands together with Paul (Hawkins), a co-survivor, to pull themselves out of the wreckage and fight to stay alive.
Van Toffler, CEO of Gunpowder and Sky, expressed excitement at the prospect of working with the actress, saying that her high caliber talent was needed for the lead role.
Turner, speaking on landing the lead role, also said how honored she was to portray the character of Jane and stated that she hoped it would impact those struggling with self-worth to seek the support they needed.
I couldn’t be more honored to portray the role of Jane in Survive for Quibi. She is a complex character fighting against the odds to not only save her life but to also find her own source of strength and courage. I only hope this can impact anyone struggling with self-worth to understand they are braver than they know and to seek the support they need.Sophie Turner – deadline.com
