British singer Rita Ora has been added to the cast of Twist, an upcoming movie based on the classic story of Oliver Twist.
Rita Ora was seen in Fast and Furious 6 in a cameo role and this time around, her character has a prominent part to play.
Among those slated to star in Twist are Oscar winner Michael Caine, Game of Thrones alum Lena Headey, and newcomer Raff Law (the son of popular actor Jude Law), who will play the title role. The movie is an update on the classic tale by Charles Dickens and will head into production later this year.
The plot will see a contemporary retelling in which Oliver (reinvented as a streetwise artist), living on the streets of London, encounters a gang led by Dodge (Ora) and is caught up in a high stakes heist plan to steal a priceless painting for master thief, Fagin (Caine) and his ruthless partner, Sikes (Headey will play a female version of the character). Twist will be directed by Martin Owen.
Rita Ora is an English singer, songwriter, and actress. She rose to fame in February 2012 when she was featured on DJ Fresh’s single Hot Right Now, which reached number one in the UK. She is the first British solo artist to have 13 top ten songs in the UK.
