The University of Lagos has suspended Dr. Boniface Igbeneghu whose involvement in the sexual harassment scandal in the school has gone viral.
The lecturer (who is also a Pastor in the Foursquare Gospel Church) was captured in a video footage sexually harassing an undercover journalist pretending to be a secondary school leaver looking for admission in the university.
The news of the suspension was confirmed by the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, in an interview with Premium Times on Monday, October 7, 2019.
The Vice-Chancellor also disclosed that a panel would be set up to investigate the case.
Dr. Boniface Igbeneghu is a former sub-dean of the Faculty of Arts and the swift disciplinary action given to him by the institution is an assertion of its zero tolerance for such vices.
