A source has revealed that Dr. Boniface Igbeneghu, whose role in the viral sexual harassment issue in UNILAG has been heavily criticized, tried to end his life yesterday evening.
The lecturer’s attempted suicide was shared by someone close to his family who confirmed that he gulped down the contents of rat poison and has been admitted to the hospital.
Igbeneghu was found unconscious with bubbles in his mouth in the late hours of Monday and was rushed to Reddington Hospital.
The attempt is no doubt connected with the ensuing backlash he has been enduring and the scholar must have made the decision on the basis of not being able to live with the shame resulting from the exposure of his indecent activities.
