According to recent reports, Saudi Arabian lawyer Nouf bin Ahmed has expressed her opinion that Cristiano Ronaldo should be deported from the country after he allegedly made obscene gestures during a football match between Al Nassr and Al Hilal on Tuesday.
Ronaldo, who plays for Al Nassr, was reportedly involved in a headlock incident with an opponent and was almost sent off. However, he went on to make an obscene gesture in response to chants in favour of his rival player, Lionel Messi.
The ‘Daily Mail’ reported that Ahmed called for Ronaldo’s deportation on Twitter, citing the gesture as a “crime of public dishonor”. According to her tweet, such an act could result in the arrest and deportation of a foreigner. Many Saudis have voiced their support for Ahmed’s stance, believing that Ronaldo should not engage in such behaviour while in Saudi Arabia.
Despite the controversy, Al Nassr has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident. However, the club has suggested that Ronaldo’s gesture was due to an injury he sustained during the match. It remains to be seen whether any further action will be taken against the football star.
