Former Manchester City player, Leroy Sane, expressed regret over his inability to score for Bayern Munich in their Champions League match against his former team on Wednesday.

Despite Bayern’s dominance in the game, they were only able to score from a penalty in the 83rd minute, concluding the match with a 1-1 draw. The home side squandered multiple opportunities which ultimately led to their disqualification.

Sane acknowledged his unsatisfactory performance during the game, lamenting the missed chance early on in the match that could have put his team in the lead. He acknowledged the pressure that Manchester City was able to put on his team and explained that it was tough for them, given that they lost the first game away 3-0. However, he also recognized that they had good control and won many balls in midfield.

Sane expressed disappointment with the outcome of the match, especially considering how well his team played, stating that “if I score, I would like to know how the game went.” He added that he knows Manchester City quite well and understands their strength at home, and that conceding three goals away in the first leg made it difficult to control the game.

Despite the loss, Sane praised his team’s performance and expressed pride in their display on the night. He acknowledged that they need to maintain their spirit and focus on the league, as they are now solely contesting to defend their Bundesliga title against Borussia Dortmund. Bayern Munich had previously been competing for three trophies before the appointment of Thomas Tuchel.
