Following the 3-minute CCTV video footage that revealed how a few police officers engaged the armed robbers that invaded Zenith Bank in Owerri four months ago, there have been many requests and inquires about the officer on the duty who opened fire on the robbers. Some are seeking to reward him, other feel he should be honoured.
Well., it’s so unfortunate that the brave officer identified as Sergeant Chukwudi Iboko had died two months after the gun battle which led to him being placed under intensive care before he finally gave up in April.
According to spokesperson for the Imo state Police Command, Andrew Enwerem, the two other policemen who were in the security post during the shootout also sustained gunshot injuries.
They were in intensive care for up to two months. The two survived but Iboko died. He was a sergeant and mobile policeman, Enwerem said.
