Nigerian music sensation, Rema, has revealed the secret behind his chiselled six-pack abs, and it’s not what you might expect. The talented artist shared that his impressive physique is the result of enduring hardship rather than regular workouts.
In an interview with Spotify, Rema opened up about his physical development journey. Reflecting on his early days growing up in Benin City, Edo State, the singer recalled the physically demanding tasks he used to undertake. Carrying buckets of water and engaging in strenuous activities unknowingly contributed to his muscular physique.
“I don’t go to the gym. I always had my body patterns, way back since Benin, fetching water, carrying buckets of water, you know, wheelbarrows. When I was in Ghana when I was hustling, doing hard labour. I was already getting ripped out from whatever I was doing. You know, days that I starved, my packs just came out, like,” Rema shared during the interview.
Rema, known for his breakout hit Dumebi, is a talented Nigerian singer, songwriter, and rapper. In 2019, he signed a record deal with Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin Records, propelling him to stardom.
Recently, the young musician achieved a significant milestone by headlining a concert in India. Currently on his highly anticipated Indian Tour, Rema expressed his excitement and gratitude for realizing his dream. He took to social media to share a video of an old interview where he expressed his aspirations to make a mark in India’s music scene.
In the interview from 2020, Rema questioned why Nigerian artists were not breaking into the Indian market as they were in Europe and America. He exuded a strong desire to take Afrobeats to new heights and conquer India with his music.
Three years later, the 23-year-old artist, renowned for his hit song Calm Down, accomplished his ambitious dream by successfully selling out a concert in Delhi, India. Rema’s journey serves as an inspiration for aspiring artists looking to make their mark on the global stage.
