Manchester United will announce the signing of Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez later this week due to the timing of their game against Stoke, reports from UK says.
United are sensationally closing in on a deal to sign Sanchez from Arsenal, with the Chile international set to reject the advances of Manchester City.
City have long appeared front-runners for that battle with Pep Guardiola desperate to reunite with the player, who he previously managed at Barcelona.
And according to Express Sport, United have surged ahead with Jose Mourinho confident of winning the race for the 29-year-old.
And the Manchester Evening News say a transfer is likely to be announced this week, with the timing of their game against Stoke delaying an official statement on Alexis Sanchez.
Meanwhile, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher thinks Sanchez will be joining United for the money amid reports he is set to pocket around £400,000 (N190.8m) a week.
United go up against Stoke at Old Trafford tonight (9pm-Nigerian time).
