Acclaimed Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Ramsey Nouah, is set to take the lead role in the upcoming Ghanaian film, A Country Ghana. This exciting development was revealed by Ghollywood star Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as LilWin, during an interview with GhanaFuo on May 17, 2024.
The comedy-drama, directed by Fiifi Gharbin, follows the story of Westerners, led by Nouah’s character, attempting to influence Ghanaian culture, only to be met with resistance. Nouah, who has enthralled audiences in notable films such as Fugitive (2000), Dangerous Twins (2004), 76 (2016), and 30 Days in Atlanta (2014), brings his extensive experience to this project.
A Country Ghana features a talented cast including Charles Awurum, Victor Osuagwu, LilWin, Tony Hans, Mimi Yankson, Paa George, Otale, Michael Afrane, Small Pin, and Uncle Fii. The film premieres today, Friday, May 17, 2024, at the National Theatre, with a subsequent showing on May 25 in Kumasi.
Expressing his gratitude on TikTok Live, LilWin thanked Ghanaians for their unwavering support and shared that the film’s plot resembles a documentary. He also announced plans for a nationwide tour, focusing on schools and universities, and revealed that a significant amount of funding has gone into the production.
