Holland winger Cody Gakpo wants to leave PSV at the end of the season and with Paris Saint Germain ready to table a bid, both player and club may not resist the offer.
Gakpo has been arguably the best player at Eindhoven this season scoring 16 goals in 37 appearances in all competitions. Gakpo is a pacey winger that is known for his 1v1 brilliance against fullbacks. The 22-year-old also has 15 assists in the current campaign.
PSG are tabling €30m for the OnsOranje wide man who is valued at €25m. The French side run the risk of losing Kylian Mbappé this summer and they intend to replace him as soon as possible.
Gakpo is also being monitored by Premier League club Arsenal. The London club is set to rival PSG to sign Gakpo but it remains unclear how much they are willing to splash. Arsenal are keen on recruiting youths to their squad and Gakpo could be tempted to sign for them in a few weeks.
With van Nistelrooy signing a three-year deal as manager for PSV,it still does not change Gakpo’s stance on leaving the club. Paris Saint Germain are leading the race to sign Gakpo and it is likely he will be at the Parc de Princes come summer. No agreement has been reached with any club yet but Gakpo is expected to make a decision soon.
