Netflix has released the first look at the second part of Money Heist season 5. Money Heist, also known as La casa de papel in Spain, is a successful, Emmy-nominated heist crime drama on Netflix. The show follows a mysterious Madrid criminal, known as “The Professor,” (Álvaro Morte) as he enlists a group of eight people, who choose city names as their aliases, to carry out multiple ambitious heists. First, the thieves raid the Royal Mint of Spain under The Professor’s instructions, and later they plan a heist on the Bank of Spain. To succeed in their missions, the core robbers deal with hostages and police forces, and sometimes they even die trying to make the plan work.
Money Heist initially started off as a limited series on a Spanish network. But in late 2017, Netflix obtained the global streaming rights to the show, and from thereon it changed its fate. First, the streamer renewed the show for a third and fourth part consisting of eight episodes each. And later, in July 2020, it ordered a final Money Heist season 5, which was split into two five-episode volumes. The first half premiered on September 3, 2021, to much acclaim, while the second half is due to release on December 3, a trailer for which has now been unveiled.
During its global fan event TUDUM, Netflix released the first look at Money Heist season 5 part 2. The video previews the drama to come in the final episodes of the series, thus giving viewers an idea of how the fan-favorite show will conclude.
Although there isn’t much action in the new footage, it does take the viewers by surprise as The Professor has gone missing. After his disappearance, the group are all quarreling among themselves as to what their next move should be. Martin is insistent on taking the gold out through the stormwater tank, although the others don’t seem to agree with him.
