Manchester United captain, Harry Maguire, has been arrested by the Greek police after being involved in a fight outside a bar.
The player reportedly attacked policemen who tried to intervene in an altercation with other British tourists last night in the Greek Island of Mykonos.
27-year-old Maguire was on holiday with his girlfriend, Fern Hawkins, when the fight broke between him and three men broke out. He allegedly fought back and physically resisted arrest.
Responding in a statement, Manchester United said:
“The club is aware of an alleged incident involving Harry Maguire in Mykonos last night. Contact has been made with Harry, and he is fully cooperating with the Greek authorities. At this time we will be making no further comment.”
Harry Maguire plays as a center back for the English side, and the England national team. He played a match for his country’s under-21 squad in 2012.
He made his senior debut in October 2012 and was part of the 2018 FIFA World Cup squad.
