On Monday, the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council (PDP PCC) held a press conference in Abuja, during which they expressed concern that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is attempting to manipulate election results in Ebonyi and Imo states.
The PDP PCC alleged that the APC is attempting to increase its vote tally in these two states after being defeated by Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP). The council claimed that the APC is hoping to use the governors of these states, both of whom are members of the party, to manipulate the results in their favor.
Dele Momodu, the Director of Strategic Communications for the PDP PCC, made the accusations and suggested that the only way the APC could satisfy the constitutionally required spread is by manipulating the results in these two southeast states. However, he reassured the public that, according to the information available to the council, Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the PDP, has already crossed the constitutionally required threshold.
