PDP Salutes Nigerian Workers for Resilience and Patriotism

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a message of appreciation to Nigerian workers for their unwavering resilience, loyalty, and patriotism in the face of challenging circumstances imposed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration over the last eight years. The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, signed the message which was released in Abuja on Monday, to commemorate the 2023 edition of Workers’ Day, a global event set aside to celebrate workers.

In the message, the PDP applauded Nigerian workers for their fortitude and commitment to serving the country, despite the harsh economic policies of the APC administration, which have brought untold hardship to citizens.

The party noted that the suppression of the rights, well-being, and opportunities of Nigerian workers reflects the callousness and insensitivity of the current government, which relishes in inflicting pain and suffering on its citizens.

The PDP further decried the multiple violations, manipulations, alteration of genuine election results, and brazen subversion of the will of the people that marred the February 25, 2023 Presidential election, causing immense hurt and disappointment, especially among workers.

The party urged workers to use their strength and pivotal position in the country to safeguard the nation’s constitutional democracy from political manipulators, who are keen on eroding the hope of Nigerians for a credible democratic leadership.

The PDP reiterated its recognition of Nigerian workers’ devotion as the real drivers of the nation’s life, particularly in voting en masse for the party and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, during the 2023 Presidential election.

The party promised not to relent in its effort to retrieve the mandate at the Tribunal, so that the country can have a breath of fresh air, which has eluded her in the last eight years.

In conclusion, the PDP urged all Nigerians, particularly workers, not to succumb to despair but to remain hopeful that the judiciary would correct the wrongs meted out to the nation, paving the way for Nigeria to return to the path of peace, political stability, and economic prosperity. The PDP wished Nigerian workers a happy Workers’ Day celebration.
