The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) caused disruptions at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) on Monday as they went on strike over demands for salary increases.
This strike has resulted in the grounding of international flights at the airport.
NAHCO provides various services to several international airlines such as Air France/KLM, Qatar, Ethiopian Airlines, Delta Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, and Turkish Air.
Reports indicate that passengers were stranded at the airport, moving around with their luggage and appearing helpless.
The NAHCO staff members are said to have walked out of the airport in the early hours of Monday, announcing that they were on strike.
This has led to the cancellation of both arrival and departure flights, leaving travellers frustrated as there was no prior warning about the strike.
