Osun State Police Warns Cultists Ahead of 7/7 Day Celebration
Alert Issued by Osun State Police Command to Thwart Cult Activities on 7/7 Day

The Osun State Police Command has issued a strong warning to cultists in the state regarding an upcoming event, the 7/7 Day Celebration. The Commissioner of Police, Kehinde Longe, delivered the warning through the command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, during a press briefing held in Osogbo on Thursday.

The police command emphasized that hoteliers, event centers, and landlords/landladies must not allow their premises to be utilized for any activities associated with cultism. Longe further instructed the Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical units to remain vigilant and promptly quell any potential threats to the state’s peace and security.

Speaking during the briefing, Commissioner Longe stressed that both the police command and other security agencies, alongside the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF), would not tolerate any form of unlawful gathering or assembly that could jeopardize the tranquil atmosphere of the state. The planned 7/7 celebration, if allowed to proceed unchecked, may escalate into violence, resulting in loss of lives and destruction of properties.

Longe urged parents and guardians to guide their wards towards law-abiding behavior and discourage them from participating in any unlawful gathering or assembly. The Commissioner emphasized that the police command would apprehend and prosecute any individual found in violation of the law before, during, and after the specified date.

Simultaneously, the police command issued a stern warning to hoteliers, recreation and event centers, as well as landlords/landladies, cautioning them against permitting the use of their facilities for such purposes. Failure to comply with this directive would result in legal consequences, as owners of such establishments would be held liable and subject to prosecution.

The Commissioner of Police assured the people of Osun State that the command had taken necessary security measures to prevent any potential breakdown of law and order during the period. He encouraged the citizens to go about their legitimate businesses without fear while remaining vigilant and cooperating with the security agents. Additionally, he urged the public to provide valuable, credible, and timely information that would aid in ensuring the safety of the state.

As the scheduled date for the 7/7 Day Celebration approaches, the Osun State Police Command remains committed to preserving peace and security, while working tirelessly to prevent any untoward incidents that could disrupt the harmony of the state.
