The newly sworn-in Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has directed the most senior career heads across all local government, and local council development areas in the state to take charge of the affairs of their respective councils.
The directive was contained in a statement issued by Adeleke’s Spokesperson, Malam Olawale Rasheed.
According to the statement, Adeleke maintained that it was in compliance with the judgement of the Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo that sacked the purportedly elected local government Chairmen and Councilors.
Also, the directive according to the statement is with immediate effect.
TalkGlitz had reported that a Federal High Court, Osogbo, had nullified the Osun local government election.
While declaring the local government election as illegal, null and void, Justice Emmanuel ruled that the election was not conducted in consonance with the Electoral Act, of 2022.
He also ordered the local government chairmen and councillors who were sworn in after the election to vacate Local Government Secretariats and offices with immediate effect.
