President Buhari Takes President-elect Tinubu on an Extensive Tour of Presidential Villa, Familiarizing Him with State House Operations
In preparation for the upcoming inauguration on May 29, President Muhammadu Buhari took President-elect Bola Tinubu on a comprehensive tour of the Presidential Villa in Abuja today.
The visit aimed to familiarize the incoming President with the State House and its facilities.
Following their observance of the Jummah Prayers at the Aso Villa Mosque, President Buhari and President-elect Tinubu arrived at the Press Gallery at approximately 1:18 pm.
Among the notable attendees was Chief of Staff Professor Ibrahim Gambari and Permanent Secretary Umar Tijjani, alongside other prominent figures from the State House.
During the tour, President Buhari guided President-elect Tinubu through the President’s wing of the State House, providing a firsthand view of the different sections and highlighting their significance.
As they emerged from the waiting room of the Aso Chambers, Buhari directed Tinubu’s attention to the Press Gallery, emphasizing its importance as the designated space for engaging with the press.
“This is the Gallery where you will be meeting members of the press,” Buhari told Tinubu as both men emerged from the waiting room of the Aso Chambers.
This visit is coming barely 24 hours after President Buhari conferred the esteemed National Honours of the Grand Commander of the Federal Republic and the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger upon Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima at the State House Banquet Hall.
The occasion was marked with great splendor and was attended by distinguished guests and political leaders.
On Thursday, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo had similarly accompanied Vice President-elect Shettima on a comprehensive tour of the Vice President’s Wing within the State House.
These tours signify the commitment of the current administration to ensure a smooth and efficient transition of power to the incoming leaders.
The nation eagerly awaits the inauguration day, which promises to be a significant event in Nigeria’s democratic history.
As the final preparations are underway, President Buhari and President-elect Tinubu continue to collaborate, ensuring a successful transition that upholds the best interests of the Nigerian people.
