Jade Osiberu Announces Upcoming Projects after the Success of ‘Gangs of Lagos’
Nollywood filmmaker Jade Osiberu has revealed her plans for future projects following the successful release of her crime thriller, ‘Gangs of Lagos’. The film is part of a groundbreaking three-year overall deal with Prime Video, in which Osiberu will develop and produce original scripted TV series and feature films, marking the first such partnership in Nigeria.
‘Gangs of Lagos’ has received generally positive reactions from audiences, who are now eager to see what the talented writer, director, producer, and founder of Greoh Studios has in store next. In response to this anticipation, Osiberu took to social media to share a glimpse of her upcoming projects.
According to Osiberu, her future works will span various genres, such as rom-com, murder mystery, supernatural thriller, family melodrama, horror, and more action and crime thrillers. She reassured fans concerned about the violence in ‘Gangs of Lagos’, stating, “To everyone crying about the violence, don’t worry, we’ll give you a rom-com this year. You’ll also soon get murder mystery, family (melo)drama, supernatural thriller, horror & more action and crime thrillers. In the words of Alaya Bam Bam, ‘e relasss’ We’re just beginning.”

Osiberu’s previous work includes a diverse array of films, such as the romantic comedy ‘Isoken’, ‘Ayinla’, action movie ‘Sugar Rush’, ‘Brotherhood’, and ‘The Trade’, which have all contributed to her reputation as one of Nollywood’s most exciting filmmakers.
Her latest release, ‘Gangs of Lagos’, is the first Prime Video Original film from Africa. The movie follows the lives of three friends navigating their dreams and destinies amidst the perilous streets of Isale Eko. Tobi Bakre leads the cast as Obalola, with Adesua Etomi-Wellington as Gift, and Chike-Ezekpeazu Osebuka as Ify. The film, which took a decade to produce, offers viewers an engaging, multi-layered exploration of corruption, drug dealing, protection rackets, human trafficking, theft, and murder.
‘Gangs of Lagos’ is now available for streaming on Prime Video.
