Mompha Slams N5million Suit On EFCC Over Unlawful Rearrest And Detention

Popular Nigerian Big Boy, Ismaila Mustapha, aka Mompha has sued the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at the Federal High Court in Lagos over “unlawful re-arrest and detention.”

Recall that the Nigerian socialite was rearrested by the anti-graft agency over alleged money laundering on Tuesday morning in Ikoyi Lagos.

However, Mompha had slammed a suit on the anti-graft agency, he is also urging the court to declare that the continued seizure of the items violated his right to own property under Section 44 of the constitution.

He is praying the court to order the EFCC not only to free him but also to give him back the seized items and pay him N5m damages.

The court has yet to fix a date to hear Mompha’s N5m suit.
