Nigerian footballer, John Obi Mikel, has debuted for Turkish club, Trabzonspor.
The former Super Eagles Captain was named in the starting line-up that played against Sparta Prague and played for forty-five minutes before being replaced.
The match, which took place at Generali Arena on Thursday, August 8, ended in a draw.
Mikel was given a yellow card in the 32nd minute after a foul on Guelor Kanga, conceding a free-kick.
Sparta Prague had been in the lead up till the 84th minute before Soerloth, Mikel’s replacement, netted the equalizer.
John Obi Mikel joined Trabzonspor in July 2019 on a free transfer after a short-term deal with Middlesbrough.
Mikel has played 88 times for Nigeria, scoring 6 goals.
