Though past his prime, boxing legend Mike Tyson can go toe to toe with some of the best in the game at the moment, says his trainer.
54-year-old Tyson earned his reputation as one of the most ferocious in-ring fighters, decimating opponents with his incredible punching power.
Rafael Cordero, Tyson’s legendary trainer, spoke with TMZ Sports lately and revealed that the former boxing champ is training 6 to 8 hours daily.
Cordero also says that Tyson is actually better than he was decades ago when he was the heavyweight boxing champion, prompting the question: “Could he put up a fight against Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, and Deontay Wilder?”
Responding, Tyson’s trainer said:
“I believe Mike can do it. If he put his mind, he wanna fight for the belt one day, why not? Who says it’s impossible to do?
He’s fighting every single day in the gym and I believe the best still to come. Why not? If one day he wants to prove, he put his techniques to the test, why not [fight for] for the belt?”
