Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram insurgents ambushed travelers on Borno highway which left several dead and many with gunshot wounds a Civilian Joint Task Force, CTJF said.
According to Daily Trust, the travelers came under attack between Longomani and Musini near Ngala town at about 5:30pm on Thursday evening in Ngala local government area of Borno State.
The insurgent opened fire at passengers and burnt truck vehicles conveying food items, The CJTF Source told our correspondent via telephone.
He said “Many passengers were shot dead and several fled into the bush along with soldiers”.
“They burnt down at least 5 vehicles including a truck with food items, 2 golf cars and a Peugeot car”.
