Liverpool winger Mo Salah wants to face Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final. The 29-year-old superstar is eager to meet Madrid in the final as he wants to have his pound of flesh from the 2018 final when Liverpool lost 3-1 to the Spanish giants. Liverpool booked a place in the final yesterday as they defeated Villarreal 2-3 at the Estadio Ceramica courtesy goals from Fabinho, Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane. This becomes their third final in five years after reaching the final in the 2017/18 season, losing to Real Madrid and in the 2018/19 season when they won it at the expense of Tottenham.
Real Madrid host Manchester City tonight in what will be an epic semi-final as the winner joins Liverpool in the final in Paris. Manchester City have the advantage, having won 4-3 at the Etihad stadium last Tuesday. With the away goal rule scrapped off, it will be an even aggregate on whoever scores most between both legs. Manchester City have never won the coveted tournament with only a silver medal in 2021 when they lost to Chelsea.
Liverpool have a good chance to win the quadruple, having won the Carabao Cup earlier this season against Chelsea. The Reds are into the FA Cup final as well where they meet their blue nemesis, Chelsea. They are also one point behind PL table toppers Manchester City . Salah is the current top scorer in the Premier League with 22 goals and he has three goals ahead of second placed Son Heung-Min of Spurs.
