Dr Kingsley Oghogho Okundaye, a prominent leader of the Labour Party (LP) in Edo State, has denied the alleged alliance between the LP, Governor Godwin Obaseki, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the House of Assembly elections on March 18. Okundaye stated that the rumor was spread to distract the party’s Obedient movement from its goal of securing massive votes for LP candidates.
In a personal statement, Okundaye clarified that the PDP in Edo State was attempting to use the popularity of the Labour Party to advance their own interests. He urged LP members to remain focused on repositioning Edo state for a brighter future, despite the postponement of the House of Assembly election.
Okundaye cautioned against believing any speculation and affirmed that the Labour Party was determined to win as many seats as possible in the Edo State House of Assembly elections, in preparation for the upcoming governorship election.
