Kenneth Omeruo Moves To La Liga Side, Leganes

Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo, has joined La Liga Club, Leganes in a permanent move.

The La Liga Side paid £4.6million for the Nigerian who spent seven years at Chelsea, where he failed to make an impact. He ended up being loaned to clubs in Holland, Turkey, and Spain. He also had a brief stint with English side, Middlesbrough.

His recent performances with Leganes earned him a place in their team and it wasn’t a difficult choice opting to buy the player.

Kenneth Omeruo represented Nigeria at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2013 Confederations Cup in Brazil. He secured a place in the starting line-up at the Africa Cup of Nations as the Super Eagles emerged victorious in the tournament.

Omeruo scored his first goal in the Africa Cup of Nations in 2019 against Guinea, playing a key role in the team that clinched the bronze medal.
