Hon. Funke Adedoyin, a member of the House of Representatives, representing Irepodun/Isin Ekiti/Oke Ero constituency of Kwara state, has been reported dead.
The deceased who was a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) died while treating an ailment suspected to be cancer.
A source close to the family said that the 54-year-old had a cancer operation about two years ago, while she had been in and out of the country for medical attention since then.
She was appointed Health Minister by former President Olusegun Obasanjo in his first term (1999-2003).
Hon. Adedoyin was among the host of lawmakers who joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a mass defection from the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) early this year.
