Former Acting-Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-ife, Prof. Anthony Elujoba has been arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission before an Osun State High Court, Ede for corruption charges.
One of the several count charges leveled against him was alleged misappropriation of 1 billion naira workers’ salaries.
While the case was ongoing, workers of the university kept chanting Elujoba’s name right inside the court.
The incumbent Vice Chancellor, Prof. Eyitope Ogunbodede, and leaders of workers’ unions were also in court in solidarity with Elujoba, who they said restored peace and sanity to the university when the tenure of Prof. Bamitale Omole expired amidst protests by workers.
